The Big Picture: AI Took Over the Top 10

This week’s largest U.S. startup funding rounds were dominated by artificial intelligence, according to Crunchbase News. The biggest financing was Instinct’s $1 billion Series C for a personal AI assistant focused on everyday tasks. Other large AI-linked fundraisers included EliseAI in housing, Armadin in cybersecurity, GMI Cloud in AI infrastructure and General Intuition in foundational AI.

The Standout Deal: Instinct’s $1B Series C

San Francisco-based Instinct secured $1 billion in Series C funding backed by Sequoia Capital, Benchmark and Coatue. The round set a $10 billion valuation for the year-old company. Its focus on personal AI assistants put it at the top of a list where AI companies accounted for most of the largest financings.

Other Major Rounds to Watch

EliseAI raised $350 million at a $4 billion valuation for AI in the home rental industry and is also expanding into healthcare. Armadin raised $255.5 million in Series B funding for AI-native autonomous cybersecurity, with a valuation of more than $2.5 billion. Additional large rounds included Kahua’s $250 million growth funding, GMI Cloud’s $223 million Series B plus $445 million in debt financing, and General Intuition’s $220 million round at a $6.2 billion valuation.

Lower Half Still Shows AI Breadth

SiMa.ai raised $150 million for physical AI applications, while Supabase announced $150 million in new funding and said it is acquiring Turso. CScale emerged from stealth with $145 million in Series C funding for optical interconnect technology used in AI data centers. Homeward rounded out the list with $120 million in Series D equity funding and $330 million in debt financing for its real estate platform.

How the List Was Compiled

Crunchbase News tracked the largest announced rounds in the Crunchbase database raised by U.S.-based companies from Sept. 26 to Oct. 2, 2026. The publication notes that most announced rounds are included, though some may appear later because of reporting lag. For readers, the key takeaway is clear: AI remains a central magnet for large venture checks across consumer assistants, cybersecurity, infrastructure, developer tools and physical-world applications.
