Dextr AI Emerges From Stealth With Seed Funding

Dextr AI is emerging from stealth with $6.7 million in seed funding to build AI agents for hotels. Elevation Capital led the round, with participation from Foundation Capital, marking the San Francisco startup’s first institutional financing. The company was founded in July 2025 by Sajid Shariff and Scott Arnold after early deployments of an agent called Alfred for guest questions, check-ins and check-outs.

From Guest Messages To Revenue-Focused Booking Calls

Dextr’s agents are designed to support hotel work such as reservations, guest requests, staff coordination, group bookings and other operations. Its voice reservations agent, Daisy, handles incoming calls that may turn into bookings when guests ask questions they cannot answer on a booking site. According to Shariff, one large hotel working with Dextr handles $100,000 to $300,000 a month in bookings through the voice agent.

Why Connected Agents Matter For Hotel Operations

Dextr’s pitch is that connected agents can move information across a property instead of completing isolated tasks. For example, if a guest declines housekeeping, a guest management agent could pass that information to an operations agent so staff schedules can be adjusted. The company also describes late check-ins as a use case where Daisy can verify a reservation while Alfred helps manage the arrival, potentially reducing the need for overnight front-desk staffing at some properties.

Integrations, Traction And What Comes Next

Dextr says its agents now handle more than 1 million interactions a month across hundreds of hotels, with customers ranging from a 21-room property to one with 550 rooms. The startup works with independent hotels, owners and operators of branded properties, hotel and property management companies, reservation centers, vacation rentals, and outdoor hospitality venues. It integrates with property management systems including Oracle Hospitality, OPERA Cloud, StayNtouch, Cloudbeds and Hostaway. Dextr plans to use the funding to hire more customer-facing engineers, expand software integrations and develop additional agents.
