Fractal’s profit rose 2.4X to Rs 79 crore in Q2 FY27 from Rs 33 crore a year earlier. On a sequential basis, profit increased 10% from Rs 72 crore in Q1 FY27. The key takeaway is that revenue growth outpaced expense growth during the quarter.

Employee costs remain the biggest expense line

Employee benefit expenses accounted for over 76% of Fractal’s total expenses, making them the company’s largest cost component. This expense grew 4% year-on-year to Rs 657 crore in Q2 FY27. Including depreciation, finance costs and other overheads, total expenses rose 15% to Rs 859 crore from Rs 747 crore in Q2 FY26.

IPO and market context for investors

Fractal went public in February through a Rs 2,834 crore IPO comprising a fresh issue and an offer for sale. The IPO provided exits to existing investors including Apax Partners and TPG Capital, while the stock listed at a 3% discount to its issue price. Entrackr reported that Fractal shares were trading at Rs 808 apiece, giving the company a market capitalisation of around Rs 14,120 crore.
