Google Cloud is offering OpenAI models on the same platform as Gemini and Claude, positioning itself as the only major cloud provider with all three model families available in one place.

Google Cloud now offers Gemini, Claude, and OpenAI models on one platform. The Decoder reports that this makes Google Cloud the only major cloud provider with all three available in a single environment. For enterprise AI teams, the immediate takeaway is simpler model access without having to evaluate these model families across separate cloud platforms.
The launch includes three OpenAI models: GPT-6 Astra, GPT-6.1 Sol, and GPT-6 Luna. GPT-6 Astra is positioned for demanding work such as coding and research, GPT-6.1 Sol is described as a cheaper alternative with similar performance, and GPT-6 Luna is framed as a fast, cost-efficient option for everyday use. The models are starting as a private preview for select enterprise customers, with sign-ups open.
The models are also set to appear in Gemini for Business and Google Antigravity. Charges will run through a single Google Cloud bill and count toward existing contracts, which could reduce procurement friction for enterprise customers already committed to Google Cloud. Google says customer data will not be used for training.
The move gives cloud customers more choice, but it also underlines a strategic tension for Google. Serving OpenAI models on Google Cloud can strengthen usage of a major rival to Google’s own Gemini team. The Decoder notes this reflects a recurring resource conflict around compute capacity and Google’s position as both an AI model builder and a cloud infrastructure provider.
