What Instinct Is Rolling Out

Instinct is giving users dedicated Instinct email addresses, expanding what the AI assistant can do on their behalf. The feature is designed to let the agent create and run accounts without filling up a user’s personal inbox. TechCrunch reports that Instinct is a buzzy AI assistant now valued at $2.5 billion.

What the Email Address Enables

The new email access lets Instinct handle tasks that require inbox-based coordination, including creating accounts, contacting businesses, and following up on requests. Examples cited include asking a restaurant about a special request, checking availability with a business, or signing up for a service needed to complete a user’s task. Users can also forward emails to Instinct when it needs details, such as an order confirmation for a product return.

How It Changes User Workflow

Instinct’s email can be added to group threads so the assistant can track information as it is exchanged. Users can also send it long threads and ask about unresolved decisions, due tasks, or other follow-up questions. The bot checks back when it needs user input, but otherwise can act autonomously.

The Bigger Agent Strategy — And the Tradeoff

The feature follows other capability-focused updates, including a 1Password partnership for logins, location sharing for local and itinerary-related help, and a Stripe partnership for smoother payments. For users, the email address may reduce friction and limit how often they hand over personal contact details for small tasks. For businesses, an AI-managed account can add a layer of obscurity around who is actually on the other side of the interaction.
