Fund II Reaches Its Target Corpus

Lavni Ventures has announced that Fund II, the second of its early-stage deep-tech impact funds, has closed its Rs 200 crore, or approximately $21 million, target in committed capital. The close comes a year after its first close in August 2025. The fund structure also retains a green-shoe option of Rs 100 crore.

Focus: Foundational Health and Climate Technologies

Fund II is built around backing Indian deep-tech founders developing globally scalable health and climate solutions. Lavni Ventures’ thesis, as described in the source article, is that such companies can be built in a capital-efficient manner while delivering meaningful returns. With the target corpus committed, the firm’s focus now shifts to deployment and long-term founder support.

First Investments Signal Deployment Strategy

Fund II has already made its first three investments: Padcare Labs, Monitra Healthcare, and Vidcare. Padcare Labs recycles sanitary waste, Monitra Healthcare builds remote cardiac monitoring devices, and Vidcare develops portable at-home diagnostic tests. These investments indicate the fund’s emphasis on applied technologies addressing health and climate challenges.

Ticket Sizes Across Seed and Later Rounds

The fund plans to deploy Rs 2–6 crore, or $210k–630k, per opportunity at the Seed stage. For follow-ons, fresh Series A, and beyond, it will invest Rs 8–15 crore, or $850k–1.5 million. Lavni Ventures was founded in 2020, and Fund II is a scheme of Lavni Ventures Trust, a SEBI-registered Category II Alternative Investment Fund.
