KKR-backed LEAP India made a positive but modest stock market debut, listing a little over 4% above its IPO price after raising Rs 2,480 crore.

LEAP India listed at Rs 165.90 on the NSE, a 4.34% premium over its Rs 159 issue price. On the BSE, the stock opened at Rs 166, gaining 4.4%. The debut was positive, but softer than grey-market expectations that had pointed to a listing gain of around 8%.
The key takeaway for readers: the stock entered the listed market above its IPO price, but the opening suggests demand at listing was more measured than the pre-listing chatter implied.
LEAP India raised Rs 2,480 crore through its IPO, which was open for subscription between August 7 and 11. The issue included a fresh issue of Rs 480 crore and an offer for sale of Rs 2,000 crore. Entrackr reported that the fresh issue size had been increased from the Rs 400 crore proposed in the DRHP.
The company plans to use Rs 360 crore from the fresh issue proceeds to repay certain borrowings, with the remaining amount earmarked for general corporate purposes.
The IPO was subscribed 8.38 times overall, with institutional investors accounting for the strongest demand. The QIB portion was subscribed 16.84 times, while the NII portion saw 12.64 times subscription. The retail portion was subscribed 1.71 times.
For investors tracking listing momentum, that demand mix matters: strong institutional participation supported the issue, while retail subscription was comparatively more modest.
Founded in 2013, LEAP India provides pallet and container pooling and other material-handling solutions to businesses across FMCG, pharma and e-commerce. As of the RHP filing date, KKR-backed Vertical Holdings II Pte. Ltd. was the largest shareholder with a 73.78% stake, followed by founder Sunu Mathew with 21.07%.
For the fiscal year ended March 2026, LEAP India reported 57% year-on-year growth in operating revenue to Rs 730 crore from Rs 466 crore in FY25. Its profits also jumped over 70% to Rs 63 crore.
