Muse is turning early momentum into app-store visibility

Muse has moved quickly since its September 8 launch, with market intelligence estimates showing millions of downloads in its first weeks. Sensor Tower estimated more than 3.4 million downloads as of its Thursday figures, while Apptopia and Appfigures reported different totals. The app is currently available only in the U.S. and Canada, making the early traction especially notable for a limited-market rollout.

Meta promoted Muse at its annual Meta Connect developer conference, where it announced upcoming features for the app. Those include video chat with the Muse avatar, Mac computer-use support, a dedicated email address, more partners and connectors, and planned smart glasses integrations. Sensor Tower also found daily active users climbed 27% on Wednesday after the event wrapped.

Chart rankings show consumer interest is sticking

According to the report, Muse reached the top of the U.S. App Store on September 18 and held that ranking at the time of publication. It also reached the top spot on Google Play on September 19 and remained there. Before the conference, Sensor Tower estimated Muse had reached 2.8 million downloads in its first two weeks and averaged 55% day-over-day download growth from September 8 to September 17.

Meta is promoting Muse to existing Facebook and Instagram users, echoing the cross-platform strategy that helped Instagram Threads grow. Sensor Tower data says Meta rolled out house ads for Muse on September 9, and within 10 days Muse received the majority of house-ad promotions across Meta properties. Meta also began advertising Muse on mobile ad networks and social networks including Reddit, TikTok and YouTube, though ads accounted for only 6% of ad impressions from launch through September 19.
