Construction robotics startup Origin has raised $20 million in total funding co-led by Accel and Zacua Ventures, with plans to expand its robot fleet, deploy OG-1, and run pilots across the US and Europe.

Origin has raised $20 million in total funding in a round co-led by Accel and Zacua Ventures. The round also included participation from Unilazer Ventures, Schema Ventures and Z21, along with angel investors from Anduril, Skild AI, 1X and Tesla.
The company plans to use the capital to expand its robot fleet, deploy its flagship robot OG-1, and conduct customer pilots in the US and Europe. It also intends to broaden its robotics platform into additional interior construction tasks.
Founded in 2025 by Yogesh Ghaturle, Ashish Daga and Tushar Makkar, Origin develops robots designed to automate interior construction work. Its flagship robot, OG-1, currently handles wall finishing tasks, including applying compound, sanding and priming walls.
The robot is designed for commercial spaces, residential apartments, data centres, hotels and warehouses. Origin said it deployed its first robots at construction sites in New York within 10 months of being founded.
Origin is preparing customer pilots in the US and Europe, including with two large drywall finishing contractors in the US. It also plans pilots in Germany, Sweden, France and Saudi Arabia.
The company says its robots are powered by a Construction Action Model, a foundation model built for construction workflows. The system combines task planning, autonomous navigation and tool control to help robots perform construction tasks and adapt to changing site conditions.
Origin plans to expand OG-1’s capabilities into taping, drywall installation, drilling and conduit installation. The company is targeting deployment of 150 robots by the end of 2027.
The funding comes as construction companies look for ways to address labour shortages and improve productivity. A September 2026 survey published by the Associated General Contractors of America said worker shortages delayed projects for 42% of surveyed US construction firms.
A report by Zacua Ventures, published with Hilti Ventures and 94 Ventures, said construction robotics startups attracted $1.36 billion in venture funding in the first three quarters of 2025, compared with $612 million during the whole of 2024. Origin is headquartered in San Francisco and is deploying robots across construction sites in the US and Europe.
