Maven Robotics Emerges From Stealth With $100M and Active Industrial Robot Deployments

The stealth startup already has robots at work

Maven Robotics emerged from stealth after raising a $100 million Series A from RoboStrategy, LocalGlobe, Vine Ventures, and XTX Markets Ventures. The company says it has active deployments after winning an early logistics automation deal against rivals that already had robots. CEO and co-founder Hamza Derbas told TechCrunch that Maven has as many as eight robots working 16 hours a day with 99% or higher uptime.

Its first target is mixed palletizing

Maven’s robots use wheeled bases, move up to 10 miles an hour, and have two arms that can lift up to 30 kilograms. Their main job is mixed palletizing: taking boxed goods arriving at a distribution center and building new pallets with the right mix of products for stores. The company plans to build 250 third-generation robots and begin design on a fourth-generation platform.

The strategy: solve industrial work one task at a time

Maven is positioning itself around industrial operations rather than a single research breakthrough. The startup’s approach connects robotics work into broader warehouse systems, with the goal of taking on end-to-end tasks instead of isolated robot motions. The company is also leaning on data loops from deployed robots to retrain, evaluate, and redeploy improvements.

What to watch next

Maven is targeting a palletization market described in the article as potentially worth $80 billion, but future workflows will require manipulation capabilities that do not yet exist. Its next push is to collect more data, train robots to handle materials, and move toward automation and fabrication.
