TechCrunch Startup Battlefield is coming to Australia in partnership with Stripe to spotlight early-stage startups. On August 19, eight Australian startups are set to pitch live at Stripe Tour Sydney in front of investors, press, and the tech community. Three startups will win prizes, and one will earn automatic entry to TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 in San Francisco from October 13-15.

The judging panel includes Jasmine Liew, Head of Startup & Investor Partnerships for APAC at Stripe; Brendan Hill, angel investor and venture partner at Ten13; and Jarron Aizen, founder and CEO of Hapana. TechCrunch frames the panel as a mix of startup ecosystem, investor, and founder perspectives. Their role is to evaluate the pitches, ask hard questions, and help identify which companies show breakout potential.

The grand prize winner will receive $15,000 in Stripe fee credits and automatic entry into Startup Battlefield 200 at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026. Second place receives $5,000 in Stripe credits, while third place receives $2,000 in Stripe credits. Beyond the listed prizes, finalists will pitch in front of the Stripe Tour Sydney audience of founders, operators, and investors.

Startup Battlefield has launched more than 1,700 companies globally, including Dropbox, Cloudflare, Discord, and Trello, according to TechCrunch. The article says alumni have collectively raised $32 billion and produced more than 250 exits. TechCrunch also notes that the last Startup Battlefield winner in Sydney was HealthMatch, now valued at over $25 million with a million patients globally.
