Tekever, a Portuguese defense company, operates manufacturing sites in Britain, including a private airfield on the Welsh coast where AR3 drones are assembled and flight-tested. Many of the drones produced there are boxed, sent to Portugal, then moved overland across Europe to Poland before crossing into Ukraine; Tekever did not disclose specific shipping details for security reasons.

The UK is described as one of Ukraine’s largest military aid and security assistance suppliers, with more than $21 billion in military support committed since 2022, including 150,000 strike, reconnaissance, and logistics drones this year.

In Ukraine, the AR3 is assembled near concealed launch positions, mounted on a catapult rail, and flown after pre-flight checks. On operational missions, it can stay airborne for hours and typically works dozens of miles behind the front lines, searching for high-value targets such as air defense systems, radars, and artillery.

Operators pass coordinates to artillery crews, who can decide whether to strike, and the drone can later return for battle damage assessment. That role helps bridge the gap between small drones watching the immediate front and other surveillance systems looking deeper into Russian-held territory.
