Indian startups raised $198.33 million during Aug. 17-22 across 21 deals, including 3 growth-stage deals, 14 early-stage deals and 4 undisclosed rounds. That marked a 31% increase from the previous week, when 14 startups raised about $151.5 million. The eight-week average stood at around $297 million across 20 deals, keeping this week below the recent average despite the rebound.
Growth-stage startups raised $118.3 million across three deals. Navi led the segment with a $100 million investment from Prosus in its first institutional funding round, while BGauss raised Rs 110 crore and Butterfly Learnings secured Rs 65 crore.
Early-stage startups raised $80.03 million across 14 deals. CtrlS led the segment with Rs 250 crore, while NeoGeo raised $20 million, Rezolv secured $12.5 million, Peeko raised over $7 million and Lissun raised Rs 48 crore.

Bengaluru remained the top city for startup funding activity with 9 deals, followed by Delhi-NCR with 7 deals. Mumbai, Hyderabad and Jaipur also recorded deals during the week.
By segment, e-commerce startups led with five deals, followed by healthtech with three. Fintech and deeptech each recorded two deals, while data centres, AI, EV, agritech, F&B and other sectors also saw activity.
The week also saw 8 key hires and 2 departures. Reported leadership moves included appointments at Snabbit, Superhealth, Swiggy, MobiKwik, Charwaha.com and 360 ONE, while Flipkart is set to see two senior leadership exits.
On the M&A front, DSP Finance acquired Salter Technologies, Fleetx.ai acquired Pando.ai for an undisclosed amount, and Hearzap completed its acquisition of Amplifon India’s hearing healthcare business.
